Amnon Goldworth Research Collection Bulk, 1814-1829 1814-1980

The Amnon Goldworth Research Collection represents the research conducted by SJSU Philosophy Professor Amnon Goldworth to produce a single manuscript of the major philosophical works of British philosopher Jeremy Bentham (1748-1832). This collection consists of photocopies from Bentham’s papers, held by the University College in London, as well as Professor Goldworth's research and editorial notes. In 1983, Goldworth published "The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham: Deontology Together with the Springs of Action and the Article of Utilitarianism," (Oxford University Press), which represents the culmination of Goldworth’s efforts to edit and transliterate the collected works of Bentham into a single volume. This collection is arranged into two series: Series I: Jermey Bentham; and Series II: Editor’s notes and manuscript.
